Dear toastmasters and guests,

You are invited to join the toastmaster meeting on 2015/9/11 (this Friday).

The agenda is attached in this mail. The meeting theme of this week is The power of words.

Have you ever been irritated by any words? How did that happen? How did you feel? How would you rephrase it if you were to say it differently? The new world champion of public speaking this year, again, goes to a non-native English speaker. In his winning speech, he perfectly demonstrated the power of words. How does that inspire you? This week, we are going to talk about how to irritate a Toastmaster by just one single sentence. As the toastmaster of the evening, I am going to ask each one of you. So, prepare your answer. This is going to be a lot of fun.

Besides giving a speech, evaluation is equally important as to use the power of words. It plays a crucial role in all Toastmaster meetings. An effective evaluation not only helps to build a speaker’s confidence but also provides specific ways for him or her to improve. It is NOT just to point out the pros and cons of a speech. In this meeting, Kate Chiu is going to conduct a workshop to share her experience of evaluation.

Our new friend, Ron Hwang, who paid the member fee even before attending any meeting, is a man who clearly knows what he wants and takes action. I don’t know how you see this, but for me, this is a trait of all successful people. Last meeting, we were all impressed by his excellent job as a timer. This week, he is going to deliver his C1 speech. I am going to be all ears.

Our next speaker, Albert Wu, who has joined Toastmaster for 13 years, is currently working on this advanced manual,“Communication on Video”.  If you are a businessman, politician, educator or leader of any organization, chances are you will need to talk on TV. In other words, speak to the camera. This manual is to help build the skills of television presentation. This week, Albert is going to present an editorial live and we are going to record it and play back on the spot. This is so different from our regular speeches. “You’ve got to watch this!”

We will also have a formal new member induction ceremony to welcome our new friends, MichaelSally and Linda.

This is definitely the best way to start your weekend.

We are pleased to welcome you to enjoy the meeting.

Come relax and let's have fun at 凡是美藝廊-中壢市裕民街182F  at 7:00pm on 9/11(Friday).
