Meeting Minutes Keeper : David
It was a successful TM meeting full of surprise and learning. The meeting was started from the first surprise-“temporary meeting room in 3F” because the original meeting room was occupied on Thu. However, it’s an impressive experience for all of members to join the meeting in new places, we will never forget it.
Then, we started the meeting from the Toastmaster of Evening tonight-Jason, who keep using his fascinating smile lead us through the meeting and host the whole meeting very well.
In addition, before the prepared speech session, LinLin, the variety session master tonight, warmed up the meeting with the game related educational idioms such as “While in Rome, do as the Romans do” or “kill two birds with one stone” etc.. Don’t you know what it mean? Join the meeting!!! You can learn many idioms and improve your English efficiently.
For prepared speech:
In this meeting, we’re honored to invite heavy-weight speakers, Faylinn, Diego, Scott and Richard, from C2 to A1, from potential star to experienced speaker. Moreover, each speaker delivered their speech with meaningful topic:
Faylinn - Be a running lover:
This was just C2 speech for Faylinn, but she had great improvements to her speech, no matter from her performance on the stage, tempo even to the confidence she showed. In addition, she shared the benefit of running to us, bringing the useful information to all the audience.
Diego - How do you tell good story
As an experienced speaker, Diego taught us how to tell good story by his secret- “Magic Formula”. Meanwhile, he showed the best example how to attract and catch the audiences by his vocal variety. We all learned a lot from him.
Scott – the three billy goats gruff
Scott keep using his experienced presentation skill to make the audience fascinating to the story of the three billy goats, particularly in the conversation between goats and troll, you almost can see they just stand in front of you. What an excellent storytelling skill!
Richard – A rose by any other name
The championship of in-house humorous contest – Richard, he will be on behalf of Chungli TM to join Div.E contest. He did some modifications to make the speech better, in addition, he added more funny contents, making all the audience laugh joyfully. We all wish Richard can be the championship again!!!
The table topic session master- Nailing, she picked up some topics related to the speech’s contents such as exercise, childhood, wedding ceremony and marriage. It’s very nice to connect them together.
Last but not least, our GE-Gary led the strong evaluator team to give speakers constructive suggestions and useful feedbacks.
First of all, Oscar Liu, Faylinn’s evaluator, praised her improvement of using gesture that emphasize her point and also suggested she can try to connect more self-experiences into her speech. Richard, Diego’s evaluator, not only praised his good performance on the stage, but also pointed out his vocal volume might be too low sometimes. Erin, Scott’s evaluator, complimented his proficient storytelling skill and suggested he can perform more dramatically next time. Albert, Richard’s evaluator, used the ball bouncing to describe the interaction between the speaker and audiences as well as some positive suggestions to make him better.
