Join us on 2015/07/10 Regular Meeting!
Dear toastmasters and guests,
You are invited to join the toastmaster meeting on 2015/7/10 (this Friday).
The agenda is attached in this mail. The meeting theme of this week is Leadership.
How much do you know about Toastmasters? Is it an English cram school? No. In cram school, English is a subject to study in order to pass some exam or to get some certificate. But in real life, English is a tool for communication, and Toastmaster is a place where you can use English to practice and polish your communication and leadership skills. In each meeting, members are assigned to take different roles such as host, speakers, speech evaluators, timer, session masters and many others. We play games in the beginning, give prepared and impromptu speeches in the middle, and offer feedbacks in the end of the meeting. Through these activities, not only can you learn how to effectively express yourself, but also you can meet some decent friends and have a great time with us.
This week, former President Kate Chiu is going to share her personal experience about how to give positive feedbacks. Tony Robbins once said, "The quality of your life is the quality of your relationships." Very often in life, we need to give feedbacks to our friends, co-workers, or family members to improve the relationship . How can we ensure that everything we say can really be heard? This is maybe the most important skill that you can learn to enrich the quality of your life. Don't miss it.
Also, the first meeting of every July is very special because new club officers will report their duties and prospects for the coming year. Our new president, Nailing Liu, will introduce her new officer team to us. If you don’t know what VPE, VPM, and VPPR is, this is the fastest way to learn more about Toastmasters. It is our pleasure to invite Area E3 director, Rojer Chen, to be our general evaluator this week. One thing very interesting to me is, our former Division E governor, Bernie Hsieh, will offer his positive feedback to Kate Chiu, after hearing her ‘how to give positive feedback’ speech. I can expect we are going to have a lot of laughter and good memories together on this Friday evening.
This is definitely the best way to start your weekend.
We are pleased to welcome you to enjoy the meeting.
Come relax and let's have fun at 凡是美藝廊-

Meeting Minutes - 20140523 Regular Meeting

It was a"starry" meeting, just like the meeting theme "all star meeting". First of all, the meeting was hosted by Terry, his performance of the night was so good that people hardly knew that it was his first time to be Toastmaster of the Evening. He's a rising star of Chungli club.
The warm-up session was hosted by Scott Chen, another rising star. He challenged us by playing a spelling bee game, by using pyramid style blanks. In the first round, we must fill-in the pyramid style blanks, in which the last alphabet should be used in the first alphabet of next words. And what more challenge was the second time we must do it backwards, starting from the bottom line of the pyramid. i.e. The last alphabet of the last word should be applied into the upper word. Team B won because, team A was stuck by a word "ironic". Guess which vocabulary ends with "i"? Team A finally got it, I won't tell you the answer, but it's a Japanese food.

The weather was nice, not too cold, nor too hot. It's a perfect weather for a TM meeting.
Tonight our TME Albert announced that the meeting theme was "simplicity", he brought us a different style of the meeting. He used less than 10 words to introduce every assignment taker, and speaker. We learned that "treasure our words, to be more precise and accurate about what we said.

Meeting Minutes - 20140214 Regular Meeting
It was cold, drizzling. And it's Valentine's Day and Lantern Festival. A group of passionate Toastmasters, we, Chungli Toastmasters Club were having an unusual regular meeting.
Our EVP managed to produce a "creative" agenda with an unusual TM meeting style. It was a super relax dinner meeting. In this BIG day, we managed to have fun, to have foods on the table, while we were able to learn something.

Meeting Minutes-20131122 Regular Meeting

It was a comfortable night; it was neither hot nor chilly. But where’s everybody? The meeting started late.
President Gary gave us a good thought, he talked about it’s close to the end of year, what else we haven’t accomplished in terms of our new year’s resolutions in the beginning of the year. Toastmaster of the evening was still Emily, our beloved Division E governor, she demonstrated the spirit of service by serving as TME in 2 consecutive meetings. Two important helpers of the meeting were Charlie, our new member, he served as a Timer; Griffy, a new father, served as an Ah-counter.
After that we had a warm-up session, it was led by our EVP Jason. In this warm-up session, we played a word guessing game. We learned some Xmas vocabularies in this game too. Such as sleigh, Virgin Maria...
After the warm-up session, our first speaker was Miranda, our new blood, a lovely new member. She delivered her C2 speech. “How to Find a Good Job?” She told us some useful tips for finding a good job. Her hard work on preparing the speech paid off, she was the best speaker tonight. Good job, sister.
